CLOSE LIVE
2017 - 2019
As a visual artist of CLOSE LIVE project by British-Canadian electronic musician Richie Hawtin, I created original real-time visual effects and multiple live camera control systems.
From the debut performance at Coachella Festival in April 2017 to the last concert at Hollywood Palladium in November 2019, I performed live visuals on all his shows.
The visual effects applied on a video "Richie Hawtin - CLOSE live: How I PLAY" shot by Joan Martorell of Bratvolk Studio
While Hawtin challenged to redefine the execution of DJing by taming new custom-built music technologies I pursued mastery of own unique visual representation of Hawtin's performance.
The 75 to 120 minutes show was performed all in real time without any timecode or pre-rendered materials, making each one of the experience special, the efforts attained coherent narrative of audio-visual improvisation and brought rare harmonic sensation of music, visuals and lights to the audience.
